Damsels in Progress is a group of girls who work together to positively shape the future of their world through learning, discussion and action. In their words, they are powerful girls doing powerful things for powerful reasons. They value and promote leadership, teamwork, empowered action, and community development.
The Damsels meet regularly to learn about and discuss influential women and then, inspired by these women, they work together to take positive action. Just last year, they raised money for a group organizing girls’ team sports in rural India (Billie Jean King), collected school supplies for homeless youth (Malala Yousafzai), prepared for and transplanted a tree (Maya Lin), petitioned the Museum of Flight for better representation (Dr. Mae Jemison), and much more.
They have been together for over two years and these girls have made a huge impact on their community, their families and each other.
