Food Drive to benefit Food Lifeline with Seattle Womxn Marching Forward
This January, the Damsels are celebrating by reflecting on all that they were able to accomplish during 2017 and getting ready for another year of great learning, discussion and action. Their regular meetings will start again in February, and in the mean time, they participated in Womxn Act on Seattle – a citywide day of learning, supporting, sharing, and acting on behalf of nonprofit organizations, grassroots and social justice groups in Seattle.
Several of the girls spent an afternoon posting fliers all over the city to promote the day of action on January 21st.
As part of the day of action, the Damsels set up a table outside of the Metropolitan Market near Seattle Center. They collected donations for Food Lifeline. It was hectic, fun and very productive as the generous shoppers and employees of the market filled the boxes with non-perishable donations.
